The Soweto Gospel Choir is a South African gospel music group that was formed in November, 2002. Hailing from Soweto, South Africa, the choir is celebrated globally for its dynamic performances, vibrant costumes, and a unique blend of traditional African gospel, Negro spirituals, and contemporary music. They sing in six of South Africa’s eleven official languages.

The Soweto Gospel Choir has released music through various record labels throughout their career, including Shanachie Records, Gallo Records, Music is Fun (a division of Seeker Music), and House of Latroit. They have achieved international acclaim, winning multiple Grammy Awards for their albums such as “Blessed” and “African Spirit.” The choir continues to tour and release new material, sharing their message of hope and joy through music.
