Naledi Aphiwe Myongwane, known professionally as Naledi Aphiwe, is a South African singer-songwriter. Born on 15 December, 2006, in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, she rose to prominence while attending Khethokuhle Secondary School when her voice was sampled on “Shooter” from Chris Brown’s “11:11” studio album in 2023. She is recognized for her soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, making her a rising star in the Afro-pop genre.
Naledi Aphiwe signed a recording deal with Virgin Music Group in January, 2025. Her music is widely available on digital streaming platforms, including singles like “Ngiyabonga” and “Romeo & Juliet” (with Mawelele), the latter of which became a significant hit. She has received nominations and won awards, including the Sofnfree Afro Pop Artist of the Year at the Basadi in Music Awards in 2024, and continues to release new music.
