Musa Yende is a distinguished South African gospel artist and worship leader, known for her exceptional talent and spirit-filled ministry. Born and raised in Spruitview, East Rand, South Africa, her musical journey began at a young age, starting in church and later joining her school choir.
She further honed her craft by formally studying music, with a major in jazz, which subtly influences the fluidity and control in her voice today. Before stepping into the limelight as a solo artist, Musa built a strong foundation by singing backing vocals for gospel giants such as Dr. Tumi and Benjamin Dube, and participating in international projects.
Musa Yende officially broke into the gospel industry as a solo artist with the release of her debut EP, “Sustained by Grace,” which was released on 16 May, 2025. This seven-track project showcases her not only as a skillful vocalist but also as a dynamic worship leader and storyteller.
The EP features songs like “uMelusi” (meaning ‘The Shepherd’), which was an official single released earlier in 2025, and a stirring collaboration with Brenden Praise on “Amandla Amasha.” Her music is a blend of theological depth with modern musicality, making her a significant and inspiring voice in the South African gospel music landscape.
