Mike Aremu is a Nigerian Afro-jazz saxophone player, singer, and songwriter. Born in May 1974 in Kaduna State, Nigeria, he is widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading instrumentalists, known for his unique blend of traditional Nigerian sounds with contemporary jazz and gospel music.
Throughout his career, Mike Aremu has been associated with record labels such as Kennis Music, under which he released two highly successful albums, “Dance” (1999) and “No Shaking” (2002). He also operates under his own imprint, Mike Aremu Vision. He is the convener of “Sax Appeal,” a prominent jazz concert series in Nigeria, and has collaborated with numerous international artists, establishing himself as a global export from West Africa.
