Mahalia Buchanan is a renowned South African gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. Born on April 30, 1991, in Johannesburg, South Africa, she began her musical journey at a young age, singing in church from the age of six. Her career gained significant momentum when she became a prominent singer and songwriter for the acclaimed gospel choir, Joyous Celebration. She is known for her powerful vocals and ability to deliver spiritually resonant performances, captivating audiences across Africa, Europe, and the USA.

Mahalia Buchanan released her debut solo album, “Redeemed to Worship,” in 2015, showcasing her distinct sound which blends American-inspired contemporary gospel with her South African heritage. She has since released several albums and singles, including popular songs like “You Love Me” and “You Fight for Me.” In September 2022, Mahalia Buchanan married Wayne Hermz in an intimate ceremony in Cape Town.
