Born on 26 August, 1972, in Houston, Texas, U.S., she began singing in church at a young age. She is recognized for her distinctive blend of gospel, jazz, and R&B, characterized by intricate vocal runs and soulful improvisations, which has earned her recognition from both gospel and secular artists. She is also the pastor of the Love & Liberty Fellowship Church in Houston.
