Anchor & Braille is the recording alias for American singer-songwriter Stephen Christian. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, U.S., he is best known as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Anberlin. Anchor & Braille originated as a side project for Christian to release songs that didn’t fit Anberlin’s aesthetic, which tended to be more personal and sonically restrained.
Anchor & Braille has released music through several record labels, including Wood Water Records, Spartan Records, and primarily Tooth & Nail Records. They have also been associated with Federal Distribution and EMI Christian Music Group. His latest album, “New Mexico,” is scheduled for release on 25 July, 2025, via Equal Vision Records.
