Hle’s 11-track album, THE GROUND WE’RE ON, was released on 15 August, 2025. This project moves away from some of her previous influences, incorporating her Zulu heritage and the percussive elements of Afropop. The album features a number of tracks that draw inspiration from biblical narratives, such as “Ujesu’uyinkosi” and “Shake The Ground.” This collection of songs is elevated by the collaboration with pianist and music director Bhekisisa Mthembu, who helped shape the musical landscape of the record.
The album serves as a reminder to listeners of a divine provision and support, with songs like “Believe” and “Present Help” reinforcing a theme of steadfastness. It also includes the two-part suite “You Will Never Fail,” which showcases Hle’s soulful vocal style. The release of THE GROUND WE’RE ON continues her trajectory as a prominent artist in the contemporary gospel scene, building upon her past successes and introducing new musical directions.
